Level 2 health facilities form the bulk of all the level of health facilities in Kenya. These facilities are controlled by Ministry of Health, Private entities, Faith Based Organizations and Non Governmental Organizations. In 2022, Kenya had 16,517 Operational Health facilities. The highest level of health facilities in Kenya are Level 6 hospitals. Kenya has six Level 6 hospitals; all controlled by the Ministry of Health (Source: KNBS - Economic Survey 2024).
